Granby And East Granby Voter Registration Information

With election day fast approaching, voting is undoubtedly a hot topic in Granby, East Granby, the state and the country.

The Granbys Patch has compiled a variety of timely and useful local voting information for Granby and East Granby residents, with many thanks to the registrars of voters from both towns.

Want to register to vote by mail? You still have some time. This mail-in form can be used to register, but it must be postmarked by the 14th day before the election (Oct. 23). You must include a copy of your driver’s license or passport when registering by mail.

In East Granby, mail the form to East Granby Town Hall, 9 Center Street, East Granby, CT, 06026. In Granby, mail the form to Granby Town Hall, 15 North Granby Road, Granby, CT, 06035.

East Granby:

In-person voter registration is available through Oct. 30 at the Registrar of Voters’ office on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the senior and community center, 20 Center Street, East Granby. During all other business hours, registration can take place at the town clerk’s office at 9 Center Street, East Granby.

Absentee ballots are available at the East Granby town clerk’s office for registered East Granby voters who are unable to vote in person on Election Day. Applications for absentee ballots can be downloaded from the East Granby town clerk’s website by following this link. Mail absentee applications to the East Granby town clerk, PO Box TC, East Granby, CT, 06026.

 “Make your voice heard on Nov. 6 and vote!” said East Granby Town Clerk Sheila Bailey.

Granby:

"Feel free to stop by to register to vote, figure out which voting district is yours or make corrections in person at the Registrars’ office in the Town Hall every Wednesday (through Oct. 24), regular office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.," the Granby registrars wrote to The Granbys Patch. "Please note voter registration forms are also available at town halls, libraries, DMV offices and online at the Secretary of State’s website: www.sots.ct.gov."

Prospective voters can also submit applications at the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall (phone: 860-844-5308) and at the town libraries during their normal hours of operation.

“The Granby Registrar of Voters will hold a special last-day, all-day voter registration session from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 at their Town Hall offices (15 North Granby Road),” the Granby Registrars of Voters wrote. “Same-day voter registration, while discussed by the legislature, has never been passed in Connecticut. Voters need to be aware that voter registration is non-transferable. If you move, you must register in your new town and make sure you receive a letter of confirmation within two weeks. Call or write the Registrars’ office [15 North Granby Road, Granby, CT, 06035, call 860-844-5322] to receive confirmation on the status of your voter registration or to make changes.”

"Absentee ballot applications are being collected now by the Town Clerk for those who know they can’t get to the polls on Nov. 6," wrote the Granby Registrars. "The form is available at Town Hall or on the web at www.sots.ct.gov."

Monday, Nov. 5 is the last-chance registration deadline for brand-new Granby residents, military service members and those just turning 18 years old. The special office hours for registration are 9 a.m. to noon at Granby Town Hall.
