Granby, East Granby Election Results 2022: 1 Race Too Close To Call

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — The polls have closed in the Granbys, and vote counting is under way in several key federal and state races, including the office of governor, U.S. Senator, Congress, and local state senators and representatives.

7th Senate

Longtime Republican incumbent John Kissel won his 16th term over Democratic challenger Cynthia Mangini. With all but one precinct reporting as of 1:30 a.m., Kissel held a lead of more than 4,000 votes, according to unofficial totals from the Secretary of the State's office.

GRANBY

8th Senate

In a race too close to call with five precincts yet to report as of 1:30 a.m., Republican Lisa Seminara unofficially leads Democrat Paul Honig by less than 600 votes.

62nd House

Republican Mark Anderson defeated Democrat Kim Becker by more than 1,200 votes, according to unofficial totals provided by the Secretary of the State's office.

Judge of Probate

The race for judge of the Simsbury Regional probate court may result in a rare ousting of the incumbent. With seven of 10 precincts reporting to the Secretary of the State's office as of 1:30 a.m., Democratic challenger David Shepard had amassed 12,320 votes, to 10,749 for Republican incumbent Cynthia Becker. The court covers Avon, Canton, Granby and Simsbury.

EAST GRANBY

61st House

Incumbent Republican Tami Zawistowski defeated Democratic challenger Jim Irwin. With one precinct yet to report as of 1:30 a.m., Zawistowski held a lead of more than 700 votes, according to unofficial totals provided by the Secretary of the State's office.

Judge of Probate

With eight of nine precincts reporting vote totals to the Secretary of the State's office as of 7 a.m. Wednesday, Democrat Dan Mara had more than doubled the support of Republican Edward G. McAnaney. The Tobacco Valley probate court covers Bloomfield, East Granby, Suffield and Windsor Locks.
