Head-On Crash Leads To DUI Charge For East Granby Woman, State Police Say
The 38-year-old woman drifted into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle Sunday evening, according to state police.
EAST GRANBY, CT — A 38-year-old East Granby woman is facing DUI charges after state police said she crossed the center line Sunday evening and hit another vehicle head-on.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on November 30th on Rainbow Road near School Street. According to the Connecticut State Police, Marissa Duangjai Shuster was driving a vehicle that drifted into the opposite lane and struck an oncoming Ford pickup.
The Ford was driven by a 65-year-old man who was not hurt. His 60-year-old female passenger reported minor injuries but declined to be taken to the hospital. Shuster was evaluated at the scene and cleared by medical personnel, officials say.

State Police said Shuster was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failing to maintain her proper lane. Both vehicles had significant front-end damage and were towed away.
Officials said Shuster was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is due in Hartford Superior Court on December 15th at 9 a.m.
