COLCHESTER, CT — A resident of Granby sustained serious injuries Wednesday evening when he lost control of his pickup truck on Old Hebron Road and struck a tree head-on, according to state police.

A police report states the 56-year-old man was driving a 2002 Toyota Tundra SR5 southbound around 6:19 p.m. when his truck failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The truck crossed into the northbound lane, nearly striking another vehicle head-on, before traveling off the left side of the roadway.

The truck re-entered the road and crossed over both lanes before running off the right side and striking the tree, police said.
