Blair, Malone: Recent Death Notices From Granby

GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Granby.

Alison Blair, 61, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 1, 2025, with her loving family by her side. After graduating from Amity Regional High School in 1982, she continued her education at Southern Connecticut State University before moving to New Jersey and working at Moore Business Forms. After returning to Connecticut, she had her son, Brandon, who was the light of her life. She then began her career with the Connecticut Probate Administration until her retirement in Nov. 2023. Alison worked for Probate Court Administration in West Hartford for almost 20 years.

Juanita (Sullivan) Malone, 76, beloved wife of the late Douglas Craig Malone, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, after a brief illness. Juanita moved to Connecticut in 1977, and took a position with the Windsor Public Schools as a speech pathologist. She spent most of her career at Oliver Ellsworth Elementary School, and retired in 2008 after over 33 years of service. Juanita’s love for helping other people led her to serve in leadership positions with her local teacher’s union. She served as president for many years and was nicknamed the “Velvet Steamroller” for her firm but kind nature in representing her fellow educators. She also served on the board of directors of the Tobacco Valley Teachers Credit Union for many years.
