More College Milestones Achieved By Students From The Granbys

American International College, Springfield MA

• American International College (AIC) held its 139th commencement ceremony on May 11 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, celebrating more than 600 graduates in the Class of 2024. Megan Miller of Granby received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the nursing program, and Russell Stone of Granby received a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in the physical therapy program.
• AIC student Megan Miller of Granby has earned Dean's List honors for the spring 2024 semester. Miller is majoring in nursing. Dean's List honors are awarded to full-time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

Bryant University, Smithfield RI

• Bryant University is pleased to recognize Spencer Bennett of Granby and Sarah Lostowski of East Granby, who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and achievement and have been named to the spring 2024 President's List. The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 for at least 12 semester hours of work.
• Several local students have been named to the spring 2024 Deans' List, including Spencer Bennett, Rachel Hennessy, Timothy Jennings, Alexis Klein, William Sullivan and Jacob Wimble, all of Granby, and East Granby residents Sarah Lostowski and Kathryn Patrizzi. To earn a place on the Deans' List, students must have a GPA of 3.4 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work.

Champlain College, Burlington VT

• Brandy Caterino of East Granby, majoring in game art, and Katrina McCord of Granby, majoring in game design, have been named to the Champlain College Dean's List for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the spring 2024 semester.

Plymouth State University, Plymouth NH

• Camdyn Lupoli of Granby, a biology major, has been named to the Plymouth State University President's List for the spring 2024 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.70 or better for the semester and must have completed at least 12 credit hours during the semester.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

• Grace Flagg of Granby was named to the University of Alabama Dean's List for spring semester 2024. A total of 13,103 students made the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 or above.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• The University of Hartford is pleased to announce that 964 students received graduate and undergraduate degrees as part of the class of 2024. Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Emily Kowal of East Granby was welcomed into Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society on May 5 at the Western New England University chapter's annual induction ceremony in Rivers Memorial Hall. One of the signature events on the Western New England athletics calendar each year, the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society recognizes college students that are significant contributors to their team and display leadership while maintaining a 3.4 or higher grade point average through their junior and/or senior years. Additionally, candidates must have an endorsement from their head coach and be of good moral character. Kowal, a member of the women's cross country team, is working toward a BSE in biomedical engineering.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Prior Waskan, a member of the class of 2026 majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2024 semester. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
