More Milestones Achieved By College Students From The Granbys

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Belmont University, Nashville TN

• Carly DeMartino of Granby was named among the students who qualified for Belmont University's spring 2024 Dean's List. Dean's List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• The College of Business at Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual honor society ceremony on April 17, 2024 in the Student Center's Betty R. Tipton Room. The event included inductions for the Delta Mu Delta business honor society, Omicron Delta Epsilon economics honor society and Alpha Mu Alpha marketing honor society. Among the inductees was junior Grady Kelly of Granby, who majors in business administration and was inducted into Delta Mu Delta. Delta Mu Delta (DMD) is the international honor society for accounting, business administration, business information systems and finance. DMD was founded in 1913 and has more than 160,000 members. In order to be inducted, students must have a 3.25 GPA and be in the top 20 percent of their junior or senior class.
• The Department of Environmental Earth Science at Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual induction for the Sigma Gamma Epsilon honor society on May 2. Among the students honored was Kristian Kowalski of East Granby, who received the Soft Rock Geology Award. Sigma Gamma Epsilon started in 1915 to recognize scholarship in the earth sciences. There are more than 100 chapters at universities across the United States. Eastern's chapter, Theta Upsilon, was formed in 2015.

Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH

• Keith Wilson, Khadene Stoby and Veronica Felie, all of Granby, were named to the winter 2024 President's List. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
• Caitlin Lally and Madison Chamberlain, both of East Granby, were named to the winter 2024 Dean's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List.
