Local Photo Contest: Your Favorite Fall Scene From Granby and East Granby

We're launching a local photo contest on The Granbys Patch: "Your Favorite Fall Scene From Granby and East Granby." Entry is quick and easy and you can win a very special and unique prize package!

Your entry can be any fall photo you've taken except Halloween costumes (see below for information about our national Halloween costume contest, Halloween photos besides costumes are eligible and encouraged): a photo of foliage, a family visit to a farm, a fall sunset, a photo from a fall sport and any other photo involving a local fall theme is welcome. Halloween photos not involving costumes, including Jack-O-Lanterns, house decorations, visits to parties and haunted houses, are eligible as well.

The prize package for this contest will deck you out in Patch gear and see you featured in the weekly "Junk Food" cartoon created by local artist-writer duo Matt Ryan and Steve Kanaras of Free Lunch Studios: The grand prize winner will receive a Patch t-shirt, tote bag and water bottle along with Patch stickers and have their likeness appear in an upcoming edition of Junk Food.

Adults (ages 18 and above) are eligible to enter.

Here’s how to enter:

• Simply click the green "Upload Your Photos and Videos" button above and upload your fall image (but first make sure you’re a registered Patch user). 

• Then add a caption with the name of the person in the photo and a description of the costume. To add a caption, click “Edit Photo” after uploading the image and fill in the caption line. Then click “Finished Editing.”

The contest runs from Oct. 15, 2012, at 5 a.m. to Oct. 19, 2012, at 5 p.m.

We're excluding Halloween costumes from our contest because Patch's national Best Halloween Costume In America Contest is covering that territory. As stated above, any Halloween photo not involving costumes is encouraged. .

Official Rules:

• Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
• To enter, click the green "Upload Your Photos and Videos" button above and upload your image.
• All entries must be received by Oct. 21, 2012 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
• You may enter once.
• One grand pzie winner will be selected in a random drawing.
• One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive one (1) Patch t-shirt, one (1) tote bag, one (1) water bottle and assorted Patch stickers. The grand prize winner will also have their likeness appear in an upcoming edition of "Junk Food," the weekly cartoon that appears on The Granbys Patch. Approximate Retail Value of prize package: $150.
