Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car In East Granby
The collision took place Monday night on Route 20, or Rainbow Road in East Granby, and remains under investigation.
EAST GRANBY, CT — A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car on Route 20 Monday night, according to a state police report.
Around 9:15 p.m., a 2010 Hyundai Elantra operated by a 26-year-old woman from Rhode Island was traveling eastbound on Route 20, also known as Rainbow Road, west of Larch Drive in the right lane of two. The pedestrian, a 51-year-old man from Florida, was walking across the travel portion of the roadway, also in the area of the right lane, when he was struck by the car, police said.
The man suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment. The driver remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation. The Hyundai was towed from the scene, police said.

The collision remains under investigation, and witnesses are asked to contact Trooper Michael Dean at 860-534-1098, or through email at michael.dean@ct.gov. Anyone owning a vehicle equipped with a dashcam who may have been driving through the area at the time of the collision is also asked to contact Dean.
