Pedestrian Struck By Car On Route 20 In East Granby

According to a state police report, a man was outside a designated crosswalk area when he entered the busy roadway and was struck by a car.

EAST GRANBY, CT — A pedestrian attempting to cross Route 20 Monday morning was struck by a car, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

Around 7:17 a.m., David Addis, 56, of Norwich, entered the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk area near Enterprise Truck Rental when he was struck by a westbound Honda Civic. The car operator, an East Granby resident, applied her brakes but was unable to stop before hitting Addis, according to a state police report.

Addis was taken to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford for treatment of his injuries, according to the report.

The collision is still under investigation, and anyone with information is requested to contact the East Granby Resident Trooper's Office at 860-653-5213.
