Restaurateur Finally Finds a Perfect Location in Granby, and He's Looking to Hire

The atmosphere will be fine dining, and the cuisine is not what you'd expect.

What was formerly a Chinese takeout place in the Granby Village Shops will soon become Han Asian Cuisine, a fine dining restaurant owned by James Chen of Green Tea in Simsbury and Jimmy Chen in East Windsor.

"I've been looking for a location in Granby for several years," said Chen, who used to live in Granby and still owns a house in town.

The new restaurant, which Chen hopes to open by May 1, will have both Thai and Chinese cuisine, plus sushi. The menu will have healthy options, including some that are gluten-free, he said, and the business will have full liquor service.

Chen, who started in the restaurant business when he was 17, said he's excited to be opening a new restaurant and wants to hire people in town.

"We're looking to hire locally for wait staff, bartender, host," he said.
