Collision Between Tractor, SUV Proves Fatal In East Granby [UPDATE]
Fatal injuries were sustained in a collision on Floydville Road between a tractor and a sport utility vehicle Thursday morning, police said.

EAST GRANBY, CT — A collision on Floydville Road between a farm tractor and a sport utility vehicle Thursday morning resulted in the death of the tractor operator, according to state police.
Around 9:26 a.m., state police at Troop H in Hartford were advised of the collision, which took place when a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude struck the tractor as it attempted to cross the roadway. EMS and the local fire department were also dispatched.
The tractor operator, Leonel Bernardo, 20, of Hartford, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. The operator of the Jeep, a 33-year-old woman from East Hartland, was not injured, according to a state police report.

Floydville Road was shut down in both directions as the CSP C.A.R.S. Unit assisted with the investigation. State police advised motorists traveling through the area to seek alternate routes.
The collision remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the East Granby Resident Trooper's office at 860-653-5385.
