Standouts On Campus: College Students From Granby And East Granby

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great college achievements will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Central Connecticut State University, New Britain CT

• Nine local students were named to the spring 2024 Dean’s List at Central Connecticut State University. They were Justin Hall, Jason Ho and Aidan Walsh, all of East Granby, plus Granby residents Andrew Hazard, Isabella Krumm, Erin Kulcsar, Nina Nolan, Everett Paine and William Robb.

Clark University, Worcester MA

• Bennett Cyr Rodriguez, of West Granby, received a degree from Clark University during its 120th commencement exercises on Monday, May 20. Rodriguez graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts.

Endicott College, Beverly MA

• Abigail Case and Anna Montoney, both of East Granby, made the Dean's List for the spring 2024 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no grade below a "C," have no withdrawal grades, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

• Alana King of Granby received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 19, in a commencement ceremony concluding the college's 212th year. King majored in psychology.

Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester NY

• Jonathan Ciottone of East Granby, who is in the game design and development program, and Aria Kingsley of West Granby, who is in the studio arts program, were named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,100 of its newest alumni during the university's 2024 commencement. Nearly 4,000 undergraduate degrees and 800 graduate degrees were conveyed to students during the ceremonies, which took place May 17-19, 2024.
  Among them were Julia FIedziukiewicz of East Granby and Kyle Kadis of Granby.

Western Connecticut State University, Danbury CT

• Granby residents James Accetura, a music education major, and Elliott Moberly-Lachance, a jazz music major, were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester. Dean’s List recognition is awarded each semester to full-time matriculated students with satisfactory completion of a minimum of 12 graded semester hour credits and a 3.5 semester average.
