1 Car Stolen, Another Recovered in Greenwich
While Greenwich Police were investigating the vehicle theft, they found an SUV that was reported stolen.
Greenwich Police investigating the theft of one car in the Glenville Road area Valentine’s Day morning, ended up recovering another vehicle that was reported stolen from New York state.
It was about 10:20 a.m. Feb. 14 when police received a report that a 2014 Audi A8 was stolen from the driveway of a Calhoun Drive residence. While officers were in the neighborhood, they found a 2016 Mercedes Benz SUV with the tailgate open a few houses away that was reported stolen from New York State, according to Sgt. John Slusarz.
It was not immediately known whether the Audi was locked. The report did not indicate when the Mercedes was reported stolen or from where in New York it was taken, Slusarz said.
A couple hours later, police were called to a Huntzinger Drive home where residents reported that three vehicles parked in the driveway were rifled through. “It was mostly penny change taken. Nothing of real value,” Slusarz said.
It’s unclear whether those incidents are related to the car theft, Slusarz added.
