All in the Family -- Continuing a Law Enforcement Tradition
An Old Greenwich family's ranks now includes four police officers.
A career in law enforcement is a tradition that is kept all in the family for the O’Connor clan of Old Greenwich.
William ‘Billy’ O’Connor, the youngest son of Sgt. Michael O’Connor Sr. and his wife May Ann was sworn in as an officer in the Old Saybrook Police Department on Dec. 28.
Billy O’Connor, 22, recently graduated with a four-year degree from Southern Connecticut State University. His older brothers, Michael Jr. was sworn in as an officer for the Greenwich Police Department Dec. 29, 2014, and Patrick, was sworn in as an officer with the Naugatuck Police Department in June 2014.

Billy will be attending the Connecticut Police Academy starting on Monday, for six months of training.
Sgt. O’Connor is a 31-year veteran of the Greenwich Department, assigned to the Marine Section. The elder O’Connor said he’s obviously proud of his sons but “my wife says she now has to worry about all four of us.”
