Assistant Principal Named At One Of Greenwich's Elementary Schools

The appointment is effective Aug. 8, according to Superintendent of Greenwich Public Schools Dr. Toni Jones.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools has appointed Tiffany Johnson as the new assistant principal of North Street School, effective Aug. 8, Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones announced on Tuesday.

Johnson succeeds Jessica McEvily, who was named the district’s coordinator of student wellness and support earlier this summer.

"Mrs. Tiffany Johnson possesses the extensive experience and expertise in instruction that will complement the amazing work happening at North Street School," Dr. Jones said in an announcement. "Her strong Multi-Tiered System of Supports credentials and administrative involvement will be a great asset to Greenwich Public Schools."

Johnson most recently served as a math interventionist and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) coordinator at Candlewood Lake Elementary School in Brookfield, where she developed the district’s first remedial math program for students in grades K-5. She also helped design a districtwide continuous-improvement framework using data-driven problem solving to support student achievement.

Prior to working at Candlewood Lake Elementary in Brookfield, Johnson spent more than a decade as a classroom teacher in Trumbull, Norwalk, and Brookfield, teaching first, third, and kindergarten.

"Mrs. Tiffany Johnson is a dynamic and energized leader who brings a strong track record of utilizing data to drive meaningful instruction, fostering growth for all students," said North Street School Principal Jill Flood. "She has distinguished herself as a change agent, leading instructional initiatives and professional learning rooted in best practices and current, research-based pedagogy."

In her new role, Johnson said she aims to continue fostering a learning environment that encourages collaboration, belonging, and academic excellence.

"As assistant principal at North Street School, my goal will be to help maintain the learning environment rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging, where all students and staff feel valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential," she said. "I was drawn to Greenwich Public Schools because of its commitment to academic rigor, social‑emotional learning, and the strong partnerships among families, staff, and the broader community that make meaningful, lifelong learning possible."

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in teacher leadership from Quinnipiac University. She is certified in K-6 Elementary Education and holds an Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092) certificate from Sacred Heart University.
