Boy Scout Founder's Homestead Among Latest Real Estate Sales

The home built in 1928 by Boy Scout founder and naturalist painter Ernest Thompson Seton has been sold.

Built in 1928 on 2.77 acres at 610 Lake Ave., the ranch-style home overlooks a lake where Seton had panoramic views that inspired his artwork. The Great Room has 20-foot ceilings and wall of special artist's glass, that was especially designed so Seton could paint the scenes from his studio's windows, according to the listing by the New England Land Co.

According to the listing, " This one-of-a-kind home is priced to sell "as is".  Far from its past splendor, the house needs a lot of TLC and imagination to bring it up to today's standards, but the effort will be well worth it."

The five-bedroom, three bathroom home was listed at $975,000 and was sold for $890,000. The property was sold by the estate of Constance Bentley to Jung Hoon Cho.
