Burglars Target Mid-Country Greenwich Home
The resident was home when the would-be thieves tried to break through the front door.
A mid-country Greenwich resident apparently scared off would-burglars who tried to break through the front door of a home Saturday afternoon.
It was about 2 p.m. Nov. 28 when the resident of the home in the 400 block of Stanwich Road “heard a loud bang. The resident was on the second floor and thought it was a family member returning home and called out their name,” according to Lt. Kraig Gray.
The resident went downstairs and discovered “somebody tried to force open the main entry doors,” Gray said. He would not detail how the would-be thief tried to force open the doors.

“A large pick up truck with a trailer in tow was seen leaving the area,” Gray added.
“Nothing was taken. There was no confrontation. They were most likely spooked when the resident called out,” Gray said.
