Teen Bicyclist Collides With Vehicle In Greenwich: Police
Police said the boy was "apparently not wearing a helmet" at the time of the crash and struck his head against the vehicle's windshield.
GREENWICH, CT — A 14-year-old boy on a bicycle collided with a vehicle in Greenwich Tuesday morning in the area of Hillside Road and Fairfield Avenue, which prompted a road closure for approximately two hours, according to police.
The boy was "apparently not wearing a helmet" at the time of the crash and he struck his head against the front windshield of the vehicle, police noted. He was taken to Stamford Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. Arriving units determined that the boy was riding a bicycle along or on Fairfield Road and may have been trying to cross the roadway to turn onto Hillside Road when he collided with a vehicle that was also traveling on Fairfield and turning onto Hilside, police said in an update Tuesday afternoon.

The boy was conscious but disoriented upon police arrival, police said.
Buses were rerouted during the road closure. Greenwich High School, Greenwich Country Day School, and Central Middle School are all located nearby.

The driver of the vehicle was on scene when police arrived and was cooperating with their investigation, police said. There were no reported injuries from the driver or any of the passengers of the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been issued at this time.
