Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

No one in the family is involved in politics.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

I have served the state representative for six years three terms and this is my fourth election and this would, if I’m successful, give me eight years of public service as representative.

Age: I will be 66 years old on election day.

Why are you seeking this office?

I think it’s important for those of us who can serve to get back to our community. I’ve served on the RTM for 20 years. I’ve been the State Rep for six years — now that I figured out the levers of power up and Hartford I’m able to deliver resources back to my community.

What do you believe is the No. 1 issue facing Connecticut, and how do you plan to address it?

I think the most important issue facing Connecticut is to be economically competitive to grow the state to grow the tax space to improve the quality of life.

There have been an alarming number of deaths on Connecticut's roadways. Is there anything from a legislative standpoint that can be done to address that?

I think it’s important that we begin to enforce speeding laws and use speed cameras to begin to find people who are excessively speeding on our highways. I think we should mail everyone who speeds a traffic speeding ticket. It’s important to remember that 40% of the people using our roads are out of stators on all of our interstate highways; they’re speeding and we’re not taking them seriously. Overall, the incidents of traffic deaths are unacceptable

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

As I have never heard any positions from my opponent, I can’t speak to his opinions nor is it my responsibility. I serve the public 24 hours a day seven days a week. I love my community services and involvement. I love my background and investment banking because that’s where I can bring policy to work to improve the state. Rather than criticizing my opponent, I think I have an exceptional experience on the global stage of international finance and community service as after 20 years in the RTM and I bring that to bear.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My house delegation successfully brought back 6 1/2 million dollars for the Boys and Girls Club, over $20 million on the rebuilding of Central Middle School and numerous other nonprofit projects. We’ve raised the visibility of Greenwich in the capital of Hartford and we’ve delivered resources back to our town.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I had the privilege in my work to sit with macroeconomist portfolio managers, and the CFO of major multinational corporations in my work on Wall Street. I bring an incredible understanding of policy as sensitivity and service and dedication to improve the community I serve. I am so honored and blessed to have the job and I’ve never felt more fulfilled at any point in my career.
