Deadline For Dog Licenses Looms In Greenwich

Getting a license is mandatory for all owners of dogs age 6 months or older living in Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — The deadline to obtain a license for your dog is fast aproaching in Greenwich.

Residents with four-leged fury friends have until June 30 to renew their licenses. The annual fee for a spayed or neutered dog just $8 per year, and the fee for unaltered animals is $19 per year.

Renewals can be done in person at the Greenwich Town Hall Clerk's office or by mail. The form can be accessed here, and there is more information on the Town Clerk’s website.

Getting a license is mandatory for all owners of dogs age 6 months or older living in Greenwich, according to the town. Dogs must wear there tags to show they're licensed.

A current rabies vaccination must be presented at the time of licensing, and owners will also need a certificate from a veterinarian indicating their dog has been spayed or neutered.

There is no license and tag fee for any blind, deaf or mobility impaired person who is the owner or keeper of a guide or assistance dog, the town said.
