Driver Found Asleep at the Wheel Faces DWI Charge
Greenwich Police say the man had trouble opening his car window.

A 30-year-old man is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after Greenwich Police say they found him asleep inside his Nissan Altima that was parked near the intersection of Henry and New streets early Monday.
It was about 12:42 a.m. Feb. 15 when officers saw the parked car and the driver who appeared to be asleep inside the vehicle. According to a police report, the driver appeared confused when officers asked him to roll down the car window.
The driver started the car so he could put down the window but “continued to struggle with figuring out how to open the driver’s side window,” according to the report. Officers reported the driver had an odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath and red, glassy eyes and failed perform field sobriety tests, according to the report.
The driver, identified as Rosel Rivera-Contreras, of Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, also was charged with refusal to be fingerprinted. He was held on a $250 bond.
