Former Yankees World Series Champion Seen Dining In Greenwich

The popular Greenwich restaurant has seen its fair share of celebrity stop-ins over the years.

GREENWICH, CT — Former New York Yankees first baseman and World Series champion, Mark Teixeira, was seen dining in Greenwich recently.

Tony's at the J House, located within the J House boutique hotel at 1114 E. Putnam Ave., confirmed with Patch that Teixeira stopped by for dinner on July 26.

Teixeira is no stranger to Greenwich. He moved to town after signing a whopping eight-year, $180 million contract with the Yankees prior to the 2009 season.

The Maryland native was a key cog for the Yankees' 2009 World Series win, finishing second in American League MVP voting that year. During his Yankee tenure, Teixeira was a two-time all-star and a three-time Gold Glove Award winner.

Following his playing career, Teixeira spent four years with ESPN as a baseball analyst in Bristol.

In 2021, Teixeira sold his Greenwich estate for $7 million. He bought the six-bedroom, 8.5 bathroom home for $6.7 million in March 2009, according to realtor.com.

Tony's at the J House, an Italian steakhouse and bar, has seen its fair share of celebrity stop-ins over the years, according to the restaurant's website.

Former celebrity sightings have included Justin Bieber, Bryan Cranston, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Caitlyn Jenner, Kathie Lee Gifford and many more.
