Free Concert From Sound Beach Community Band Upcoming In Greenwich

First Selectman Fred Camillo will serve as guest conductor. The concert was previously postponed due to weather.

GREENWICH, CT — The Sound Beach Community Band will perform a free concert Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. in Binney Park in Old Greenwich, rescheduled from its original July 27 date due to weather.

The program, part of the Greenwich Parks and Recreation Summer Concerts series, will feature the theme "Meet the Muppets: The World of Jim Henson."

The band is led by music director Zachary Kampler, with music arranged by assistant conductor and trombonist Lisa Romeo.

Founded in 1955, the Sound Beach Community Band is a private, nonprofit organization that welcomes musicians from middle-school level, by audition, through active or retired professionals.
