Greenwich Announces Reservation Day for Camping, Picnic Permits

Residents will be able to make reservations for the town's 5 picnic areas and 2 overnight island camping areas.

The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation has announced its annual reservation day for picnic and overnight camping permits for the 2016 season.

Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis for Greenwich residents beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the Cone Conference Room located on the second floor of Town Hall.

Reservations are required for overnight island camping at Great Captain Island and Island Beach. Reservations are limited to one night per family per season.

Reservations for town picnic areas including the Bruce Park-Wood Road picnic area, Byram Park Clambake Area, Greenwich Point Clambake Area, Greenwich Point Cowbarn Area, and the Pinetum Picnic Area. Reservations are limited to one reservation per family per season.

All fees must be paid in full at the time of reservation. The town will accept cash (exact change only), checks made payable to “Town of Greenwich”, and Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit cards.

If a resident has an open balance with the Parks and Recreation office for any services or programs, they must be paid before any picnic and overnight island camping permits will be issued.

Proof of residency is required to make a reservation and residents must be 21 years or older to make a reservation and be present for the duration of the event.
