GREENWICH, CT — The Special Education Legal Fund, a nonprofit supporting families of children with disabilities, will launch new programs this fall and host an informational webinar for families in Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.
The free webinar, titled "The New S.E.L.F.," will take place Aug. 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will introduce Laura Sullivan, the group’s staff attorney. The session will outline the organization’s expanded mission and highlight available resources for the 2025–2026 academic year. Families can register online at bit.ly/TheNewSELFWebinar.
"At S.E.L.F., we believe that knowledge and access are essential for effective advocacy. Our programs and webinars are specifically designed to achieve this goal," said Christine Lai, executive director of S.E.L.F.

On Sept. 2, the organization will begin accepting prescreen applications for programs available during the school year, including Legal Aid, Attorney Grant and Advocate Grant. The initiatives provide financial assistance and professional advocacy to families navigating special education.
"Our goal is to level the playing field for families by providing financial and advocacy support where it’s needed most," Lai said. "These grants ensure that children with disabilities are not left behind, but instead have access to the services they need to thrive."
