Greenwich Choral Society Announces 2025 Holiday Concerts
The Greenwich Choral Society is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Choral Society announced its annual holiday concerts for December, which include a family-friendly performance and two traditional concerts at Christ Church in Greenwich.
The family concert will take place Saturday, Dec. 6, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The program will include sing-alongs of classic carols and "A Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas," a humorous arrangement of the holiday favorite that moves through musical styles from Gregorian chant to Wagnerian opera.
Admission is free for children. Tickets can be ordered by calling the box office at 203-622-5136.

The society’s traditional 90-minute concert series, "A Christmas Tapestry," will be performed Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The program will feature Bach’s "Cantata No. 63," Benjamin Britten’s "A Ceremony of Carols," and Margaret Bonds’ "The Ballad of the Brown King," with lyrics by Langston Hughes.

The concerts will feature soloists Regina Krawiec (soprano), Naomi Steele (mezzo-soprano), Chad Kranak (tenor), Shavon Lloyd (baritone), and narrator Edward Pleasant, accompanied by organist Jonathan Vaughn and orchestra. The program will also include Hanukkah songs and traditional carols.
The December concerts are a long-standing tradition in Greenwich, drawing community members together to celebrate the season through music.

“This 100th season is a milestone for the Greenwich Choral Society," said Music Director and Conductor Dr. Christine Howlett, in a news release. "We’re thrilled to share these concerts with our neighbors and welcome the community to join us in ushering in the holidays with joy and harmony."
