Car burglaries

Six cars in one Greenwich neighborhood were targeted by thieves who rifled through the unlocked vehicles and stole an undetermined amount of loose change.

The targeted vehicles were parked in driveways of homes on several streets in the private and gated Milbrook neighborhood in central Greenwich. The thefts were discovered on the morning of Feb. 23 and apparently occurred the night before, according to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

Burglaries

Also reported about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 23 was the burglary of a home on Lincoln Avenue in Old Greenwich. Residents found that someone had entered their unlocked home sometime overnight and made off with an unspecified amount of cash, personal documents and small electronics, Gray said.

The theft of an unspecified amount of copper was reported by workers at a construction site at the Round Hill Community Church, 395 Round Hill Rd., about 10:42 a.m. on Feb. 26.

It was shortly before 4 a.m. Feb. 27 that residents of a Wahneta Drive home in Old Greenwich called police after being awakened by a noise coming from the first floor of the house. Gray said that when the resident checked out the noise, they saw that a first-floor window was slightly ajar and a small, dark-colored vehicle driving away. Thieves didn’t enter the home.

Truck theft

The theft of vehicles continues in town as evidenced by the report Sunday afternoon that a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup was taken from a driveway in the 100 block of John Street. The vehicle had been left in the driveway, unlocked with the keys inside, according to Gray.
