Greenwich Man Busted After Threatening to Kill Victim

Greenwich Police said they witnessed the suspect make the threat.

A Greenwich man was arrested Tuesday after Greenwich Police said he threatened to kill his victim when they took him into custody.

The situation unfolded about 4:20 p.m. when the victim called police to report that the suspect was upset he could not borrow the victim’s car. The suspect opened the passenger door and yelled at the victim and then began to throw items from the car into a parking lot, according to a police report.

A witness corroborated the victim’s story and police arrested Adham Aid Elsharkawy, 29, of West Putnam Avenue on a second-degree breach of peace charge.

According to the police report, “Upon arresting (Elsharkawy) … (he) looked directly at the victim and stated in front of all the officers on the scene, ‘I’m going to kill you.’”

Police then charged him with threatening. Elsharkawy was unable to post $5,000 bond.

It is the second time in a week that Elsharkawy was charged following a dispute. He was issued a misdemeanor summons for disorderly conduct on Feb. 7 following an argument with a woman over the contents of her purse. He is due back in court March 22 for that incident.
