Greenwich Man Wanted In Illegal Gun Possession Case Extradited To CT: Police
Police said they executed a search warrant on Aug. 27 at a Greenwich home.

GREENWICH, CT — A Greenwich man who, police say, had several illegal firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in his home was extradited back to Connecticut on Sept. 9 from Westchester County where he was arrested as a fugitive from justice, according to an announcement from police this week.
On Aug. 27, Greenwich detectives executed a search warrant at the home of Kristopher Chimblo, 36, after the police department received "reliable information he was illegally in possession of firearms," police said.

"The search uncovered Chimblo, a convicted felon, to be in possession of firearms, some fully automatic, and firearm parts," police added.
Detectives recovered four assault rifles, two shotguns, five handguns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, dozens of magazines both regular and high capacity, and hundreds of gun parts used for building and altering firearms, police said.

An arrest warrant charging Chimblo with criminal possession of a firearm was issued, and he was later located in Westchester and arrested, police added. Chimblo was being held at the Westchester County Correctional Facility before extradition.
Chimblo was given a $250,000 bond.
