Greenwich Official Tenders Resignation

The executive aide to the first selectman has accepted post in Massachusetts.

Greenwich’s executive assistant to First Selectman Peter Tesei is leaving town.

During Friday’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting, First Selectman Peter Tesei announced that Michael Rosen has tendered his resignation in pursuit of his dream to become a town manager.

“When he came here, he said his goal was to become a town manager,” Tesei said. “He graduated at the top of his class at Rockefeller University (that’s part of the State University of New York at Albany system). He has done a great job.”

To that end, Tesei said he wasn’t surprise when Rosen told him he accepted the position as assistant town manager in Bedford, MA. Rosen’s last day in Greenwich is Dec. 11.

Rosen said his “front-line” experience in Greenwich “has been invaluable and has helped shape me” into becoming prepared for the position of assistant town manager.

In a heartfelt statement, Rosen quipped, “In three-and-a-half years, this is the first time I have used the microphone,” at the meeting in the Town Hall Meeting Room.

A search for a successor to Rosen will be conducted.
