Greenwich Police Charge Woman with DWI

Police say the driver crashed head-on into a stone wall.

A 53-year-old woman, who Greenwich Police said crashed head-on into a stone wall on Stanwich Road, is facing a driving while intoxicated charge.

When police arrived at the scene of the crash near 127 Stanwich Rd. at about 9:25 p.m. on Nov. 19, they found the driver had bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcoholic beverages on her breath, according to a police report.

The driver failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

In addition to the driving while intoxicated charge, Carolyn Driscoll, of Highlands, NJ, was ticketed for failure to keep right. Driscoll was released after posting a $250 bond. She is scheduled to appear Dec. 3 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
