Greenwich Shopper Faces Threatening, Intimidation Charges

Greenwich Police said the suspect created a "ruckus in the store and threatened bodily harm" to a store employee.

A shopper is facing a variety of charges including intimidation, threatening and forgery charges following an incident at the J. Crew shop on Greenwich Avenue.

The 28-year-old suspect apparently threw a hangar and made a verbal threat to a store manager shortly before 4 p.m. Nov. 28, according to a Greenwich Police report. She then “uttered a biased remark,” according to the report.

“She caused a ruckus in the store and threatened bodily harm,” Lt. Kraig Gray said.

Outside the 125 Greenwich Ave. store, police detained the suspect and two other people who were with her. After reviewing store video of the incident, officers told Natasha Y. Parks of Brooklyn, NY that they were going to arrest her “and she bolted, running up Greenwich Avenue,” according to Gray.

Parks was caught at the intersection of Greenwich Avenue and Amogerone Crossway. Police said that Parks signed her notice of rights and other paperwork using the name of Danielle Elizabeth. It was when her fingerprints were checked with an electronic database that officers learned her true identity, Gray said.

Police also found a small amount of marijuana and rolling papers in Parks’ purse.

Parks was charged with criminal impersonation, second-degree forgery, interfering, intimidation based on bigotry or bias, disorderly conduct, threatening, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She also was charged with first-degree failure to appear in court in connection with a larceny, criminal impersonation and conspiracy charges dating back to 2009.

Parks is being held in lieu of a total of $60,000 bond and is scheduled to return to state Superior Court in Stamford on Dec. 28, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
