Greenwich Small Business Spotlight: Bash Weddings and Events
Our small business series shines a light on local business owners in the community.

Every local business has a story worth sharing with the community. And that’s the belief behind this exciting series — to shine the spotlight on all our favorite local businesses, and to learn a little about the ones we may not know that well.

How did you come up with the name?
The term, “bash,” was used often when I was younger to describe not just a party, but a celebration that was meant to be a blast, a super special occasion and all out extravaganza. These are the types of parties I plan and execute. I also thought by using this term for my business would attract a clientele in search of hosting a “bash” rather then a traditional dinner party or simple cocktail party.

Why start a business in this town?
In 2011, I opened Bash as a event consulting and catering business in Darien. Clients were pleased and the Darien community has been wonderful for repeat business and referrals. The word quickly spread throughout Fairfield County, garnering me new clients in need of consulting/catering for weddings and beyond. My Darien location will now double as a tasting room, and my new office set in Greenwich, will especially compliment my brand. My two locales, with their proximity to Westchester and New York City, are ideal settings, as many local residents seek unique, luxurious events - my forte.

Briefly, what business are you in?
Bash is a wedding and event planning firm and I design luxury events for discerning clients.
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
I find online marketing and SEO Optimization to be the most difficult. Thought the Internet is key to building my business, it takes time for my website to top search engine lists.
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?
There’s really no one moment I can pinpoint, but a series of rewarding experiences. I’m very proud of the reputation I’ve built over the last four years and I cherish client reviews; they are priceless. In addition, bringing someone’s vision to life and guiding couples through the wedding planning process brings me much joy.
How does your business give back or get involved in the community?
For years, I’ve given back to the community via auctions in regard to catering services. I’ve also acted as a consultant for school PTA organizations, purchasing decorative items or foods wholesale to help keep their costs down. I’ve also provided helpful vendor referrals to local groups, so as to eliminate research on their part.
