Material Wrld is a luxury fashion trade-in service that offers a seamless experience for women to refresh the designer items in their wardrobe. The company was founded in 2012 by Rie Yano and Jie Zheng, two friends who shared the belief that a woman’s wardrobe should evolve just as easily as she does, without any added stress or hassle. How it works is simple: Material Wrld makes an upfront offer on items and then manages all aspects of the selling or donation, cutting out the unwieldy experience of standard resale marketplaces and consignment stores. The service provides a safe, secure, and fast platform to extend the lifecycle of your clothing while instantly replenishing your funds for new merchandise with gift cards to retail partners, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales,Barneys, Steven Alan, Nordstrom, Shopbop, and Intermix. All trade-in items not sold are donated to Material Wrld’s clothing donation partner, Housing Works.
