Greenwich, Westchester Choral Societies To Hold Joint Concert
This is the second collaboration between the choral societies since 2011.
GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Choral Society and the Westchester Choral Society have announced a joint concert which is set for Saturday, March 8, at Manhattanville University, O'Byrne Chapel, 2900 Purchase St. in Purchase, N.Y.
The concert will feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s "Mass in C Major, Op. 86," his "Egmont Overture, Op. 84," Felix Mendelssohn’s "Verleih uns Frieden," and Jake Runestad and Todd Boss’ "A Silence Haunts Me," an adaptation of Beethoven’s "Heiligenstadt Testament," a letter in which he reveals his increasing deafness.
This is the second collaboration between the choral societies since 2011 when the ensembles first performed Dvořák’s "Stabat Mater."

Winner of the coveted Arts Organization Award of Arts Westchester, the Westchester Choral Society was founded by Sarah Stewart Bowne in 1942 to perform Bach’s "B Minor Mass" with 15 singers.
Today, 60 singers perform works from Baroque to contemporary, presenting concerts in the winter and spring seasons in Westchester and nearby communities. The choral society is in its 83rd season.

An auditioned chorus of approximately 100, the Greenwich Choral Society has performed with musical giants such as Leonard Bernstein, Michael Tilson Thomas and Dave Brubeck.
The group has toured nationally and internationally and is continuing its interest in joint concerts with sister organizations. The Greenwich Choral Society is in its 99th season.
