Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!
Andrew has always successfully achieved what he has set out to accomplish. He sets the bar extremely high and pushes himself until the goal is achieved. He has always been an excellent student, and even scored a perfect 1600 on his SATs.
He has always been very proficient in math and now has added computer science / data analytics to his skill set.
He was accepted to an early admission program into the Fordham University GSAS Accelerated Master's Program while still completing undergraduate courses at Fordham. This was quite a feat since he was taking both undergraduate and graduate courses at the same time, at two different campuses.
He successfully graduated with a BS degree, summa cum laude, and was well on his way to completing his Master's degree when COVID turned the world, as we knew it, upside down. He did his best to continue his pursuit of Master's degree through virtual means. He was a few courses short and was not able to complete his quest due to the university's vaccination policy. That didn't deter him. He requested a leave of absence. Not one to sit around idly, he succeeded in becoming gainfully employed in a difficult job market.
He worked in the computer field, and true to form, he excelled at his job, but unfortunately, due to the uncertain economic environment, he was laid off. This did not deter Andrew. He made the proverbial lemonade from lemons and rematriculated back into Fordham's Graduate program.
His quest for higher education and to broaden his knowledge was exemplified in the numerous hours he spent attending virtual classes last summer, closing in on the goal of graduating in February 2024.
I am proud to say that he has successfully achieved his goal and will be walking in the 2024 commencement ceremony held at the Rose Hill, Bronx campus of Fordham University with an Arts & Science Master's Degree, summa cum laude, on May 18th. Andrew's favorite quote, from his Greenwich High School's yearbook, made famous by Buzz Lightyear, "To Infinity and Beyond."
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?
He sets his goals high and achieves them, even if the road may have potholes and unpaved at times.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Andrew!
