Here's How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Greenwich

Trees will be recycled into wood chips for mulch or compost, according to the town.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich residents will be able to recycle their Christmas trees from now until Jan. 31.

Trees can be dropped off at one of four locations in town. They will then be recycled into wood chips and used for mulch or compost. Residents can take the chips home or the town will retain them for use on trails, shrub beds and soil stabilization.

The four locations are:

  • Byram Park, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Bruce Park near the children's playground, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Greenwich Point in the parking lot across from the nature center, 6 a.m. to sunset.
  • Holly Hill Resource Recovery Facility in the yard waste area, during normal operating hours.

All trees must be undecorated. Wreaths and garlands are not being accepted as part of this program. Additionally, commercial haulers are only allowed to bring trees to Holly Hill.
