Here's The Latest Update On Construction At Greenwich's Central Middle School
Greenwich Public Schools this week gave its September update on the Central Middle School construction project.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools on Thursday gave its September update on the Central Middle School construction project.
First, here's a look back at the work that was completed in August. Officials held a topping off ceremony on Aug. 14.

- Continued foundation systems for the building
- Continued structural steel erection
- Continued exterior envelope framing at upper level of building
- Started installation of roofing system(s)
- Started mechanical electric & plumbing (MEP) hanger installations
- Continued underground MEP installations at lower level
- Completed placement of slab-on-deck (SOD) and slab-on-grade (SOG) at upper level
- Continued sanitary installations at Indian Rock Lane for phase 1
Work scheduled for the month of September
- Work will continue on Saturdays for the month of September and October
- Finalize decking and detailing of structure
- Continue exterior envelope framing
- Continue roof system installations
- MEP hanger and rough installations at upper level
- Continue placement of concrete slabs
- Exterior site storm and utility system(s) install
The new 125,000 gross square-foot building is being constructed just north of the current school.

The existing school will continue to function until the new structure is complete and receives a final certificate of occupancy.
If all goes according to plan, the new $112 million CMS could open before the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
