Here's What To Know About The Upcoming Greenwich Avenue Milling And Paving Project
The Greenwich Department of Public Works says the project represents the culmination of streetscape improvements along Greenwich Avenue.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Avenue milling and paving project is set to begin on Oct. 20, according to an announcement from the town's Department of Public Works.
The project is expected to be completed by Nov. 26.
To minimize daytime disruption, construction will occur Monday through Thursday evenings between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project will be carried out in phases and includes roadway milling and paving, restriping, and decorative crosswalk stamping.

Greenwich DPW says the project represents the culmination of streetscape improvements along Greenwich Avenue, which have included new ADA-compliant sidewalks and curbing, drainage enhancements, and intersection realignments.

Detours will be in place during night work. The Greenwich Police Department will be on-site to assist with traffic management and ensure residents and businesses can access their properties safely.
The work schedule is subject to change due to weather, equipment availability, traffic impacts, or other unforeseen conditions.
Outdoor Dining
The Planning & Zoning Department and Department of Public Works recently issued a notice informing residents that crews will be removing the in-street dining areas, or "dining nodes," on Greenwich Avenue on Oct. 16-17.
The outdoor dining season was previously approved to run through Oct. 19, although the town reserves the right to modify the schedule based on scheduled projects.
Community Coordination
DPW says it has developed "a robust communications plan" to ensure residents, businesses, and visitors are well-informed.
Updates on the project will be shared through press releases, the town of Greenwich website, social media, variable message boards, and other channels.
DPW is also coordinating with the Office of the First Selectman, Emergency Services, and the Department of Parking Services to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
