Holiday Shopping for a Cause in Greenwich
The gift shop Splurge expands its philanthropic efforts; Scarf donation made to Greenwich Hospital Smilow Cancer center.

Continuing their ongoing effort to “do good while doing business,” SPLURGE Unique Gifts recently donated 96 pashmina scarves to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Smilow Cancer Hospital’s Greenwich Hospital Campus.
In honor of October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness month, with every customer’s purchase of $150 or more, SPLURGE donated a pashmina scarf. At the end of the month, SPLURGE matched the total quantity, doubling the gift to Greenwich Hospital.
Store owner Sonia Sotire Malloy said, “We are thrilled with the response we received. This was our largest donation to Greenwich Hospital in the five years we have offered the pashmina program. Our customers embraced the opportunity to donate and hand-write heartfelt and inspirational notes to the recipients. Next year we will continue this tradition and our goal will be to donate over 100 pashmina scarves.”

It’s very much appreciated.”
During the holiday season, customers can give back to local and national charitable organizations and schools at one of 13 upcoming SPLURGE for a Cause shopping events. At these events, SPLURGE donates 10 percent of pretax sales to the designated charity and provides wine, light hors d’oeuvres, gift consulting and complimentary wrapping to shoppers.
