In Memoriam: Ann Marie Labbate

Ann Marie Labbate passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at her home in Greenwich.

She was born September 28, 1942 in New York, NY, the daughter of Marie and Stanley DeNisco.

She was united in marriage to Basil J. Labbate on June 29, 1968 in Pelham Manor, NY. They were married for 47 devoted years.

Ann Marie received her BA at Newton College of the Sacred Heart. She worked as a Catholic High School teacher for 15 years in the Hell’s Kitchen area of New York City. She then worked as a successful businesswoman at SND Electronics for several years.

A tom-boy at heart, she was a great athlete and dedicated Yankee fan. She enjoyed opera and traveling the world with Basil.

She is survived by her husband Basil; son Marco and his significant other Jen and her daughter Ava; grandson Marcello; three brothers, Rick, Kim, and Chris; two sister-in-laws, Sue and Theresa; four nieces Brooke, Alison, Stephanie, Sarah; and two nephews Spencer and Alex.

Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Michael’s Church, 469 North St., Greenwich, at 10:30 a.m.
