In Memoriam: Dorothy Eisenberg Bronin
Mrs. Bronin passed away Nov. 4 — two days after her 103rd birthday.

Dorothy Eisenberg Bronin, a resident of Edge Hill, Stamford, passed away on November 4, 2015. She was 103 years old.
A creative quiltmaker whose colorful patterned creations grace her son’s and grandson’s homes, she also worked her entire life, finally retiring in her early 80’s only because the little hospital on Long Island at which she worked closed down.

Her first memory was walking on a beach on Long Island when a biplane flew overhead and dipped its wings as it passed over her and her family. She married during the Depression, waited with so many other wives during WW II while her husband served in the Pacific, and, after he returned, raised a son.
A high school graduate herself, she instilled the values of education in her child,
She was a voracious reader until her vision no longer permitted.

Her last 9 years were spent in Edge Hill in Stamford. She was as fond of the staff at Edge Hill as they were of her. Her family is deeply grateful for the care, the support, and the love they showed her.
Dorothy passed away 2 days after her 103rd birthday, and one day after her beloved grandson, Luke Bronin, was elected Mayor of Hartford, CT. She had followed the race closely up until the end.
She leaves behind her son Andrew and her beloved daughter-in-law Elaine Jones –Bronin, of Greenwich, CT, her grandson Luke (Sara) of Hartford, CT, and three great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
