Men Posing as Water Company Workers Target Elderly Greenwich Woman
Police issue alert on possible water utility scam.

Greenwich Police say they are investigating a water utility scam that targeted an elderly town resident Thursday.
The woman, who lives on Arthur Street, told police that it was about noon when a man who produced legitimate looking credentials came to her home and sought to inspect her water meter and check the water pressure, according to police Lt. Kraig Gray.
The woman apparently allowed him access into her home and “suddenly realized an additional three suspects within her home.”
The “elderly woman became very scared and began to yell and said she was going to contact police.” At that point, all four men, described as having a dark or olive complexion and wearing grey pants fled the residence,” according to Gray.
