More Thefts from Cars Parked in Greenwich

None of the cars were locked by their owners, according to police.

GREENWICH, CT - Greenwich Police are investigating thefts from four cars that all were left unlocked by their owners.

A wallet was reported missing after the owner apparently made several trips from her car to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop on Hamilton Avenue where she was dropping off donations, according to Sgt. John Slusarz. The victim didn’t realize the wallet was missing until she was grocery shopping a short time later around 12:30 p.m. Feb. 19, Slusarz said.

The owner of a vehicle that was parked on Winding Lane reported at 8:01 a.m. Feb. 22 that someone rifled through an unlocked car and pilfered an unspecified amount of loose change.

It was about 10:20 a.m. Feb. 22 that a Jofran Lane resident reported someone stole the wallet containing cash, credit cards and identification that was left inside overnight.

And shortly after 3 p.m. Feb. 22, another wallet was reported missing from a car by a West Brother Drive resident. The resident reported they left the car unlocked overnight while it was parked in the driveway, according to Slusarz.
