GREENWICH, CT — Sage + Sound, a wellness destination based in New York City, is looking to open a location in Greenwich, according to recent documents submitted to the town's planning & Zoning department.

The business is seeking a pre-application review for a change of use at 116-136 E. Putnam Ave. The pre-application process generally allows for a non-binding discussion with the commission about the pros and cons of a proposal.

Sage + Sound offers curated programming, products and self-care services in a revitalizing and approachable environment, said John P. Tesei, attorney for the applicant, in documents on file with the town.

The proposed tenant space is currently vacant and contains approximately 6,000 square feet across two levels, documents state.

Tesei said Sage + Sound would occupy both the upper and lower levels

The upper level is proposed to contain retail space, a dining area and a market with seasonal outdoor dining tables, Tesei said. The lower level would contain treatment rooms, a cold-plunge sauna, a head spa and a "study," where mindfulness classes would be held, including meditation, sound meditation, breathwork and mindful movement.

Classes would be limited to 15 people, with 20 minute breaks between classes, Tesei said. Seven full time employees plus part time instructors and practitioners are expected.

Hours of operation would run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

The parking lot is in the rear of the building and faces south down Millbank Avenue, and it features 64 spaces.

Other tenants in the building, which is owned by Mill Post Realty LLC, include Freebird, Lucenti Design, Osteo Strong, Berkshire Hathaway, Patsy's Restaurant and SLT Fitness.

Sage + Sound was founded by Lacey Tisch and Lauren Zucker, according to the business' website. The flagship location is at 1481 3rd Ave., on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The application has not yet been scheduled to go before the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission.
