Old Greenwich Deli Returns To Its Roots, Opens New Location In Town
The deli offers daily specials, breakfast, salads, burgers, wraps, and of course, sandwiches.
GREENWICH, CT — After a two-year hiatus, Old Greenwich Deli is back in town.
Owner Diego Proano opened the doors to his new location on Monday at 1345 E. Putnam Ave., the former site of EATalia Market. First Selectman Fred Camillo stopped by on Wednesday for an official ribbon-cutting to commemorate the occasion.
OG Deli originally opened in Old Greenwich in 2020 across the street but left in 2022. Proano opened a location at 2802 Summer St. in Stamford with Enzo's Italian Fine Foods.

EATalia Market opened in June of this year in the small Old Greenwich plaza, but closed after just a few months. Proano jumped at the opportunity to return to Old Greenwich where it all began.
"It's very exciting. I've gotten a lot of notes and feedback from all my customers I used to have over there. I'm so happy about it," Proano told Patch on Wednesday. "Everybody's happy, everybody's excited. A lady came in crying the other day because she was so excited."

Customers can expect a similar menu to the past iteration of OG Deli. Proano serves up daily specials, along with breakfast sandwiches, omelets and platters, salads, burgers, wraps, and of course, sandwiches.
Highlights include The O.G. breakfast sandwich, which is a bacon, egg and cheese with hot sausage from Scarpelli's Sausage in Cos Cob.
There are 30 signature sandwiches and wraps, with offerings ranging from the Eatalian (salami, pepperoni, capicola, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar) to The Lipsmacker (buffalo chicken cutlet, melted cheddar cheese, bacon, hot sauce, lettuce, tomato and caesar dressing.)
"[People can expect] the same as before," Proano added. "Love and great food, a great environment and good vibes."
Camillo welcomed Proano back to Old Greenwich and a section of town that doesn't feature many delis.
"I think every community, every neighborhood needs to have a really good deli, and that's always been the case in Greenwich. The fact that OG Deli is back here, they already have a really good following, will be really helpful," Camillo said. "They're in a good location, and we're looking forward to many years of them continuing to serve the public."
OG Deli is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
