Opening Date Announced For New Green & Tonic Location In Greenwich

GREENWICH, CT — Green & Tonic, a café chain with nine locations throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties, will open its newest location at 239 Sound Beach Ave. in Old Greenwich on Sept. 22.

"We’re thrilled to bring Green & Tonic to Old Greenwich and continue growing within the Greenwich community," CEO Fausto Mieres said in an announcement. "At Green & Tonic, our mission has always been to make clean eating simple, accessible, and delicious — and each new location is an opportunity to share that mission with more people. We look forward to becoming part of the daily rhythm in OG, offering neighbors a place for wellness, convenience, and connection."

To mark the opening, the store will offer $1 hot or iced drinks throughout the day and free tote bags for the first 50 customers. A monthlong smoothie contest will also launch, inviting customers of all ages to design a custom drink. The winning creation will be featured on the store’s menu, and its creator will receive a $100 gift card.

Founded in 2012 in Darien, Green & Tonic has expanded over the years, with three locations in Greenwich. The company opened a Glenville store in April and also operates in Cos Cob.

The Old Greenwich café will feature a salad station for custom bowls, meal boxes with two to five days of prepared meals, and a fully gluten-free menu.

While primarily plant-based, the menu has recently expanded to include organic chicken and pasture-raised eggs.

Kid-friendly options such as the AB&J smoothie, roasted banana bread and sourdough grilled cheese will also be available.

The opening will debut a limited-time special, the Vita Coco Strawberry Mango Matcha Cloud, created in partnership with Vita Coco. The drink combines coconut water, strawberry purée, mango and matcha cold foam.

The Old Greenwich location will be open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
