'Real Housewives Star' Sells Greenwich Home For $7.8 Million: See Inside

The home was once owned by a former governor of Connecticut, according to an announcement on the sale.

GREENWICH, CT — Bethenny Frankel of "Real Housewives Of New York City" fame has sold her Greenwich home for $7,825,000.

The Lake Avenue home, also known as Applejack Farm, was originally built in 1743. It's one of the oldest homes in Greenwich, and has had just a handful of owners over the course of its history.

According to an announcement about the sale, from 1989 to 2001, the property was owned by Lowell Weicker, and his wife Claudia. Weicker served as governor of Connecticut from 1991 to 1995.

The home was last sold in August 2021 for $4.25 million, and it was redesigned.

It was reported in April that Frankel had listed the home for sale off-market.

"In a town where demand continues to outpace supply, even at the highest end of the market, the opportunity to own a legacy estate such as this one is very rare," said Jeff Jackson of Corcoran Centric Realty, who represented Frankel in the sale. "Therefore, it is no surprise that the home was swiftly snapped up, epitomizing Greenwich’s current market trends."

The main house features five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, grand historic rooms, a La Cornue-equipped kitchen, sun-filled primary suite with dual spa-grade bathrooms, a walk-out lower level with a media room, entertainer's bar, dedicated gym, and more.

The guest cottage on the property has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a half bathroom, three-bay garage, standalone studio, and a separate "party barn."

Architectural details on the property include beamed ceilings, brick fireplaces, paneled walls, ornate moldings, an antique bar, and more.

There are mature specimen trees, rolling green laws, landscape lighting, a stone patio, storage shed, and a covered porch.

"Applejack Farm is a rare blend of historic pedigree and modern luxury nestled in the heart of the Golden Triangle of Greenwich," Jackson added. "Properties with this level of attention to detail and with such rich architectural distinction, seldom come to market."

Frankel announced on Instagram on April 17 that she planned to move to Florida.

"I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons. Something has arisen that's made this the best and healthiest decision for myself and my daughter," Frankel said in a video posted from the Sunshine State. "We will maintain residences in the Hamptons and New York City because we love New York, but this will be our primary and permanent residence."
