GREENWICH, CT — Recent obituaries from Greenwich.
Doreen Ann Dorrian Daum, 80, passed away on March 7, 2025; she worked in publishing at Fawcett Publications, Listening Library, and Weston Woods Studios, where she once voiced a character in an animated short; she found joy in gardening, birdwatching, decorating for every holiday, reading, going to Island Beach and exploring local history; leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness, she is survived by two children, eight grandchildren, her sister, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
James Edelin Bourne, 91, passed away on Mar. 7, 2025; a University of Notre Dame and NYU graduate, he served in Army Intelligence in Germany before spending over 30 years as a trader on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange with firms including Robinson Humphreys and Alex Brown & Sons, was a longtime member of Greenwich Country Club, Nantucket Yacht Club, and the Union Club of New York City, and is survived by two daughters, four granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, and his brother.

Veronica “Roni” Schmitz, 79, passed away on March 6, 2025; a College of St. Elizabeth graduate and devoted Catholic, she was active in St. Michael’s Parish, the Order of Malta, the Junior League, and served as president of the Greenwich Exchange for Women’s Work, while dedicating herself to homemaking and caregiving, and is survived by her daughter, niece, siblings, nieces and nephews.
William Gene Wiggin, 97, passed away on March 5, 2025; an Ohio State University graduate and U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Tilefish, he had a 25-year career in the personnel industry as Vice President of Olsten Temporaries, was a lifetime member of the 9th District Veterans, found joy in sailing and the Long Island Sound, and is survived by his wife of 61 years, four children, and three grandchildren.

Frederick K. “Fritz” Trask III, 87, passed away on Mar. 2, 2025; a Harvard graduate with a history degree and an M.S. in mathematics from Bowdoin, he taught at Greenwich Country Day School, worked at General ReInsurance, and held leadership roles at Craig Hospital Foundation, Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation, and Boettcher Foundation, and is survived by his wife, three children, and eight grandchildren.
Sarah Seaver Zaske, 53, passed away on Feb. 25, 2025; a Greenwich High School and Boston College graduate with a B.A. in Art History, she worked with the Russian Youth Orchestra, Sotheby’s, and later often represented her family at NY Mets events to honor her father, was an avid traveler, skier, tennis player, and cook, had a passion for the arts, genealogy, and history, and is survived by her husband, three sons, mother, and sister.
